The Design Collective were appointed by the M&E Sub Contractor to undertake the development of the RIBA Stage 3 design to detailed design stage to enable a firm pricing exercise and to provide detail for the M&E installation on site. The project design development looked at value engineering opportunities and considered the key elements of the scheme for the both the users of the building whilst maintaining the energy credentials of the design.

The new building incorporates general and specialist teaching rooms as well as a new sports hall and changing block. The building is completely passively ventilated and environmental conditioning is produced via a combination of boilers and air source heat pumps to help maximise the energy benefit of the building in operation. this is further enhanced with the inclusion of PV.
