Orpington Health & Wellbeing Centre

The project under construction 2018/19 will complete a £3million fit-out programme at the new Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centre.

The new building occupies the ground and first floor of a wider development consisting of 83 one and two-bedroom apartments with private terraces, winter gardens or balconies. The Health Centre building was handed over as a shell and core fit out with the residential development being completed by Berkley Homes. The residential units occupy between 4 and 7 storeys over the health Centre.

The new health centre will house a GP surgery – the Knoll Medical Practice, which is relocating from their existing premises nearby – and a range of community health and wellbeing services, including out-patients.

NHS Property Services (NHSPS) is undertaking the interior fit out programme on behalf of NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The health centre will be fully mechanically ventilated and offers energy credentials in the form of Photovoltaics dedicated to the Centre and its own micro CHP plant. In addition to the energy targets of the building the design seeks to achieve a BREEAM ‘EXCELLENT’ status.
